I want to share somethings with you, and hope you will share it as well.
A Heart for Wisdom school is a non-profit Christian school in a fairly small village of rural Cambodia. Many of you our supporters already know this but I share it for those who don’t. The last couple year our school has ranked top in the state/province. I don’t say this pridefully but I do say it with pride I think there’s a difference. We do an excellent job with what we have, we stretch every dollar and we get the most we can from what we get. I would compare our ministry to a healthy garden. For each seeds we plant we see tremendous amount of fruit but also a verity of fruit only the gospel can provide.
This child’s getting bad grades – give him Jesus and see the fruit.
This child is having trouble at home – give him Jesus and see the fruit.
That parent is worried about their child’s welfare and grades – give them Jesus and see the fruit.
The government is calling – give them Jesus
We need money call on Jesus and see the fruit.
We keep living Jesus and sharing Jesus and He covers everyone’s problems in one way or the other and all the fruit is there for us to hear and share.
I hope you see that in all the stories we’ve been sharing on the blog posts.

So as I build this up I want to share more than those stories today.
I want to let you know our international donors and funds have been really low, in a time that America is doing pretty well financially. I think we’re really feeling the effects of a good economy, meaning people tend to be less churchy in good times.
Also my pastor told me once that mission fields tend to have trends this place is cool for a while and then the next place is cool for a while. Some times there’s a current disaster that draws a lot of attention and a surge of funds and people circulate towards other places and away from others. I feel Cambodia for us at least isn’t trending. We have had a steady reduction of teams visiting this year we 1 team scheduled for 2020.
We have very little international interaction these last couple years and it’s been really, really slow for us. All the while we are facing tremendous growth in the ministry and it’s needs.
We’ve grown to over 800 students this year.
We’ve added 6 new classrooms this year.
We have nearly 50 staff right now and a couple teachers in college.
We still have a large waiting list to attend the school but all the classes are full.
In 3 to 4 years our current location will be at full capacity and well be unable to accept any new students.
This year in the saving phase for the new school property. I have to raise more than $100,000 dollar a year to accomplish our goals of getting new property by our 4th year so we can keep growing.
And frankly this are not our only need this year.
2. Our van has broken this month and they can’t find the parts in this country.
3. We’re trying to get solar panels purchased.
Generally we may raise between $20,k and $40,k a year from donors, so $100,k is a lot, it’s a big task when everything else seems to be declining.
Why do we want to grow.
First and foremost we’ve been called to reach a large number of students. So with that calling it’s easy for me to keep pushing forward because I don’t believe God calls us to something that is to fail or not be accomplished.
Second we have two great products to share; Jesus and a good education.
Third there’s a need we fill that is highly desired by the customer(if we want to call them that).
We have more customers than product available because of space.
Personally I want to take ever student that arrives at our door. I want to pack the place and never turn a child away any longer. Because each child we take hears the gospel.
The school this year is profiting, we expect to save about $5,k a month towards the new property and panels and repairing the car.
But on our own it’s not enough and it’s not fast enough.
So here’s the main thing, my main point. I look at this stuff daily and it’s often overwhelming and I find myself depressed at times; some times not knowing what to do or where to start. I just plug a long just because I’ve been commanded to do so. But these last couple days as I feel this year we will get less international help than ever before while our task seems to grow bigger and harder each day.
I’ve realized; I hope I realized that God is working like He does so much for us. He does big things here, He amazes people here through us. I’ve realized that the work this is getting so big and at times so rough for me to see how am I going to make it work.
The answer is; It’s going to work because He wants to and wants the glory for the success of the school. That is why the work seems so huge and impossible. God wants the people in our area to know it is GOD’s school and He made it happen.
He’s working to shock people, to make the success of the school unmistakable HIM.
I am reading in 2 Kings right now and the other day I read 2 Kings 6 where, Elisha’s (I believe it was my bible is in the office at the moment.) servant saw the army outside that was huge and overwhelming and the servant asked “what are we going to do” and Elisha prayed to have the servants eyes opened so he could see God’s army that covered the hills.
So, I feel overwhelmed with my task at hand and it’s debilitating at times.
But the reading recently has opened my eyes that God has the hills covered. That this task is His task. His command for me to do it doesn’t mean He’s going to let me do it by myself.
So I took great comfort this week to look at the massiveness of the project a head of us as a sign that God is going to make it happen in a big way, much bigger than I am capable of.
So look out and be prepared to be even more amazed at what God does through a little school in a small village of a 3rd world country called Cambodia. Before we know it we’re going to meet our goals of enrolling our 3,000th student.
Please be apart of this work with us.
While you pray for the school, the kids and the ministry. Please pray for us/me, I rarely ask for it, but it’s lonely a lot and sometimes discouraging.
We need a lot of advice about the construction side of things, maybe the help of a civil engineer, landscaper, developer. I don’t feel adequate doing this on my own, it’s a really big task.
We need to raise a lot of funds over the next couple years and a hundred bucks here and there from you and your friends can really help us make this happen. Also don’t be afraid to approach your church and see if they get on board some how be it an offering or a team.
So the take away from this beside we need help,, is the bigger this task seems to be the more I’m forced to trust Christ to do it. I know He’s called us to do this I have the faith that Christ will make it happen.
In my mind the school already complete under the faith that we have of the calling.
It just the how, when and really with who.
A quick thank you to everyone who has helped us out so much already.
Again please share this, or talk about us and if you want there’s another link below to directly help.
