Looking for a miracle today? We just saw one. Miracles come in all sizes. I think it’s proper to attribute that large titles to small things as well.

Last night we had to discuss a child staying in school who can no longer pay. Mom died of breast cancer recently.
Grandma is caring for the 6 year old now. We gave them chickens in the past to help them cover school fees but the chickens have died from illness.
Grandma let us know she couldn’t bring him any longer and asked for help.

This morning I got a message from a family asking to if their was any children at school who needed support.

Well, YES there are. I’d say this little moment was a miracle for this 2nd grader.
Sometimes A Heart for Wisdom has to choose business over charity. If you have a waiting list of paying children trying to get into a class. The child who can not pay often has to move on.
When your trying to help the poor families out this is not ideal.
The poor families are the ones who need education the most.
We’re faced with this choice regularly.
The school is self funded and doesn’t have a regular sponsors that covers such things. The school is often in a struggle to save for the next building and cover growth. Trying to bring up teachers salaries so they don’t all want to run off. It’s really hard to balance mission and business, especially when you wish the school should be for poor kids only.

So besides being a blessing to this family today. It was a blessing to leadership to avoid telling another family we’re sorry.
Want to become apart of such miracles?  Let us know.
    Thank you, Kauai
