Court Update

The multi-court has been partially funded and we’ve been pulling the rest from saving.
You may remember from a previous post that we lost our meeting space to classrooms this year.  We’ve been meeting in the yard with the whole school every morning.  It’s taken a toll on the grass not to mention the rainy days when we’ve not been able to meet.  So getting the multi-court laid out and built has been a immediate priority for us.  We’d like to cover the area with a real roof and use it for and church as well but we’ll probably put nursery screen until we get help with building costs of a roof.

Probably something we promote in the short future.

What was a pond, very much missed.

    Wall foundations going in.

A lot of rock.  Quite the challenge keeping the kids off and not having rock spread over the entire property for the past 3 months.
Wasn’t perfect, but can’t complain, the kids will have a heck of a cleaning day when we’re all done.

Always have to make our own bricks.  I think it adds to the pride of a build, knowing you did so much from scratch.

Sand back filled to even out the place before laying the rock.

Biggest cost to the build is the steal.  If we’d the time we could have made some crazy game of human checkers or something.

Pouring cement started yesterday, it was a really hot day to start and felt bad for the men.  I’m guessing the rate of these sections being laid that it will likely be complete in a week.  We’re going to epoxy the surface after that so we’ll see how it goes.

We are all really excited.  The kids are saying “when it’s done every kid in the country will want to come to our school” it’s cute how excited they are.

I’ve been sharing but in case it’s been missed we will have tennis, basketball, volleyball and wall ball.  Probably a hundred other activities going on when it’s new.   This building will also be used for morning chapels and Sunday Church as well.  I’ve got to engineer away to do a stage and seating efficiently so it can be used daily for church and play.

LASTLY,  COSTS.  Always something I like to share not bragging, but with Pride.  We work really hard for everything we get and funds we receive freely from our donors is very important to me on how it’s used, many times reused.  I want people to know when a $1 is given we get the world for that dollar so that our donors will always not only trust us but know their gifts were well used.

I estimated $9,000 for the court to be built.  Without looking I think we’re more likely to be closer to $4 or $5,000.
To me having bee in Construction for a very long time.  I just think to myself “who builds a ball court for so little”.  Also it’s done right, so far, it’s not a flimsily build.   Anyways I’m very proud of what’s being produced and like a parent on Christmas eve. I’m excited for the day it’s complete and we can watch the kids storm onto.  It’s going to be wild real wild.

Thank you to those who always partner with us to accomplish such goals, it’s never taken for granted here.
